INDRA
   the greatest of the VEDIC GODS to whom over 250 Vedic HYMNS are addressed. In classical HINDUISM the role of Indra was greatly reduced and in many ways replaced by KRISHNA. He was the GOD of war and was depicted as a hard drinking warrior riding in a chariot.
