HOLINESS MOVEMENT

HOLINESS MOVEMENT
   any religious movement within CHRISTIANITY which seeks to promote personal HOLINESS. Such movements became particularly important in the late nineteenth century and contributed to the growth of both EVANGELICAL and FUNDAMENTALIST CHRISTIANITY.
