DORT, SYNOD OF
   held in 1618-1619 in the Netherlands in the town of Dortrecht the Synod produced the CANON OF DORT defining their understanding of ORTHODOX CALVINISM. The Synod produced the so-called "Five Points of Calvinism," see CALVINISM.
