BERG, David, Moses
(1919)
   known as "Mo" to his followers, founder of the infamous CHILDREN OF GOD. Berg began as a PENTECOSTAL Preacher whose SPIRITUAL REVELATIONS and PROPHECIES led him further and further from ORTHODOXY. In his writings he claims to have received "revelations" from a host of SPIRITUAL BEINGS including "The Abominable Snowman" and "The Pied Piper" which led him to advocate polygamy, sexual recruitment of new members--known as "flirty-fishing"--and various other questionable sexual practices.
