the "Three Jewels" of BUDDHISM which are the BUDDHA, the DHARMA and the SAGHA. In popular PIETY they form a chant "To the Buddha for refuge I go; To the Dharma for refuge I go; To the Sagha for refuge I go..." giving them the alternate name of the Three Refuges.
