SUNNI

SUNNI
the majority party in ISLAM distinguished by its rejection of the claims of ALI. The name comes from the practice of finding solutions to problems not discussed in the QURA'N by appeal to the SUNNA of MUHAMMAD in MEDINA or to the HADTH in contrast to the SHI'ITES who believe in the AUTHORITY of inspired IMAMS.
