SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISM

SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISM
   the name adopted in 1861 by a dynamic EVANGELICAL GROUP which began as a REVITALIZATION MOVEMENT expecting the imminent return of CHRIST and has now become a fast growing denomination with extensive MISSIONARY programs. They observe the SABBATH, FOOD laws based on the HEBREW BIBLE, VEGETARIANISM and avoid tea, coffee and alcohol. Unlike most MILLENARIAN movements they emphasize education and have an impressive record for medical work. Although some CHRISTIANS accuse them of HERESY, they are essentially ORTHODOX in their THEOLOGY.
