PROTESTANT PRINCIPLE

PROTESTANT PRINCIPLE
   a term used by Paul TILLICH to define the essence of PROTESTANTISM which may be expressed as the protest against any ABSOLUTE claim made for a FINITE REALITY such as a CHURCH, PERSON, BOOK, SYMBOL or EVENT.
